Daruma
by Hosoai Katsudo
Every day is a good day!
Respectfully brushed by Murasakino (=Daitoku-ji) Katsudo

One of the most valuable lessons that Zen training (here personified by Bodhidharma) teaches us is that "Everyday--positive, negative, or neutral--is a good day." That is, each day has to be accepted as it comes, and we must adjust to the circumstances no matter what happens--an thus make it a good day.
About the Artist
Katsudo was long-time abbot of Ryugin-in, an important sub-temple of the Daitoku-ji complex in Kyoto.
