Enso
by Yokono Ichio

If you want to know the true goodness of plum blossoms, gaze at them at the third watch of the night when the moon is full. (signed) Ichio

This is an interesting moon/enso with a lovely painting of a blossoming plum tree within. Plum flowers bloom during the harshest weather, and are a symbol of perseverance, hope, and renewal.

About the Artist

Yokono Ichio was abbot of Chonichi-ji. His dates are unknown.
