Amida Sutra by Kaneda Chikuho (twentieth century) Namu Amida Butsu (dated) Showa 34 (1959) April 8 (Buddha's Birthday) Respectfully brushed by Kaneda Chikuho. This is a wonderful example of shakyo,* the devotional practice of copying sutras. It is a handwritten copy of the Amida Sutra, and the little characters of the text are arranged to form the large characters "Hail to Amida Buddha."
